Polypropylene (PP)

POLYURETHANE [‘R’ Gd.]: Classic Polymers & Resin's Polyurethane is an elastomeric material of exceptional physical properties - toughness, flexibility, resistant to abrasions and extreme temperatures, puncture resistant and with a broad hardness range. Polyurethane combines the toughness of metal with the elasticity of rubber. It is in growing number of situations being specified to replace traditional materials such as metals, wood etc. P.U. is recommended where exceptional tear strength and flexibility is required. Classic Polymers & Resins offers cast Polyurethane in basic shapes viz. Rods, Tubes and Sheets as well as Custom-made Components.
Shore Hardness Color Code
85-95 Red
70-80 Blue
45-65 Green

Polypropylene (PP) Rounad and Square Rods is light, strong, having resistance to chemicals and with a low friction surface, all of which make it ideal as a replacement for wood or metal which are the materials traditionally used. PP is a high corrosion resistant material, which exhibits excellent tensile strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures.

Homopolymer Polypropylene is harder, possesses excellent resistance to organic solvents and degreasing agent as well as electrolytic attack. Compared to low or high-density polyethylene, it has lower impact strength but superior working temperature and tensile strength.

Polypropylene is harder than HDPE and likely to show good properties in lower temperatures. We have better impact strength, are good at lower temperatures than homopolymer & exhibit slight fall in other properties. Sheets are suitable for vacuum/ thermo-forming and mechanical fabrications.
